THE ARTIST

Becky Sievert is an artist and abstract painter based in Saint Paul. She believes that the role of an artist is to think critically, feel deeply, and document it, however one can with whatever they have. She seeks patterns and deeper concepts beneath the human experience and attempts to transcribe them into a compelling sensory experience that can connect even the most contradictory of people. While she has been creating all her life, Becky has been showing her work in the Twin Cities since 2020.

THE ART

Becky’s approach to creating is intuitive and expressionistic. She explores squares and box shapes in her work, and often returns to a concept she calls Integration, a web-like pattern of overlapping square shapes. Inspired by nature and the rich hues of the Earth, Becky collects her own pigments and makes them into paint. Several of her works are painted entirely using these pigments.
